Below are the courses I am currently offering. Each course is eligible for continuing education units (CEU's) with the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists.
Ethics in Mind Body Healing ($95; 4 Contact CEUs)
This class explores the science behind how tension in the mind manifests as tension in the body. We will discuss how to maintain proper boundaries, and communicate appropriately, making sure we stay within our scope of practice. We will also go over the science behind chronic pain, stress and trauma, the anatomy of our consciousness, trauma-informed care, and much more!
*fulfills the OBMT in-person Ethics requirement for license renewal.

Words That Touch ($65; 3 Contact CEUs)
This class dives deeper into mind body communication and nervous system regulation.
Words cast spells! That's why we call it "spelling."
How clients describe symptoms, and the metaphors they use can give us a lot of good information that can help increase the effectiveness of our treatments. The words we use (and words to avoid) can greatly enhance not only their level of relaxation, but the likelihood of them becoming repeat clients.

Therapeutic Thai Massage ($65 each; 3 Contact CEUs)
This series of 5 courses (4 below + "Putting it all Together") is intended to give students the skills and confidence to comfortably provide a safe and effective full body therapeutic Thai massage treatment (up to 2 hours). Body mechanics and breathwork will be incorporated heavily in order to maximize working "smarter not harder."
Thai medical theory and Buddhist medical philosophy through a trauma-informed lense will be incorporated throughout.
Classes will be held on the last Sunday of each month from 9am-12pm, unless otherwise noted, and may be taken in any order, or ala carte. Please see below for dates.

While the "Ethics..." and "Words..." classes aren't necessary, they help lay out the theoretical foundation for this ancient healing modality.
This teaching style is based off of community-based participatory learning, where a group comes up with an issue, becomes educated about it, and decides on a solution. Please come with "issues in your tissues" that belong to you and/or your client(s). During the first 90 minutes of each class, we will come up with a ~30 minute treatment plan and sequence together, with the last half for practicing. After attending at least 3 classes, students can attend the "Putting it all Together" class to work on flow, transitions...and putting it all together!
